There is nothing better than a bunch of useful information that you can continually understand. First, to allow you know, I did all of the research myself. What’s the point of being listed in 1000s of search engines in which 3 of them is responsible for 98% of the searches in the world while the remaining amount will generate less traffic then your site? It doesn’t make sense at all, so that’s why alexa ranking can be a pretty good indicator of determining how much traffic a site is getting so that’s why I felt it was extremely important to include this data in this resource.
Let me warn you that alexa rankings can be inaccurate at times. They can’t calculate the exact number of visitors a website is getting they can only guess because they don’t have internal access to the logs of one’s server (at least I hope not).
Secondly, like page rank and other website factors alexa ranking can easily be inflated with a couple of black hat tricks.
Third, it’s the internet and it’s a free tool– so it’s not the Holy Grail when it comes to determining how much traffic a network is getting, but from my testing it’s pretty accurate, especially with the popular online networks.
It tends to be more inaccurate with smaller websites, but with the bigger and more popular networks it is usually dead on.For example, digg is a social media sharing site that generates the most traffic compared to related sites according to alexa because its “alexa number” is a lot lower compared to that of its competing sites. The lower the alexa number ideally means the more traffic theWebsite is getting.
So, last year I started testing to see if this was true by submitting several pieces of content that was exactly the same at the same interval in time for several of weeks and guess what? Digg always out performed them. I also did this type of testing for article directories like ezine articles and it usually almost always out performs articles form sites with a much higher alexa rank.
However, don’t take my stats as gold either, I only tested this on a small area of niche sites so results could easily depend on your website’s theme and other variables and parameters. However, I still thought that this still would be helpful information to share extra food for thought if you will.However, having lots of traffic is one thing, but the quality of traffic is another valuable asset. Even though digg is an extremely popular social media sharing site, it traffic converts next to zip. That doesn’t neglect the benefits that the site can have because it can help your site for search engine purposes. But, for immediate traffic through the digg network, the traffic is trash. What is even more interesting is that there are other social media sharing sites out there that get so much less traffic then digg–I’m taking about a couple of decimal points lesser, but there traffic is so much of a higher quality which means it converts well.

Yes, I know some seo professionals will probably fall out of their chairs if they heard this but let me tell you why. There are only a handful of sites in the world that has a page rank of 10, like Google itself, yahoo!, adobe, and some other highly regarded sites. One of the keys to increasing page rank is collecting lots of links from other quality sites. Well, other quality sites will usually have lots of traffic flowing through them. Visitors comes to a site by way of links, so a site with more links pointing to it will usually mean a site that is generating more traffic which in return would probably mean a successful site. So, that’s why page rank comes in handy.
Also, I can personally vouch that getting links from sites with a high PR does matter. I once got a link from a site with a pr of 9 and my rankings shoot up like a speeding bullet in minutes, so this experience has helped me learn more ways to gather links to my sites. So, sites with a higher page rank could equal that it gets more traffic.

If you offer products or services on your Website, the first thing you'll notice when you begin hosting PPC ads is that many of the ads are coming from your competitors. Therefore, you'll want to put ads on pages that aren't earning you any money, or do like I did and not put ads on your site until you're so busy anyway you'd rather make a few dollars off of your competitors than to continue turning business away with nothing to show for it.
Google AdSense allows you to specify up to 200 URLs for sites you want to bar from placing ads on your pages. The problem is that most times you won't know the competitors are out there until their ads appear.
Google Money Making Ad OptionsGoogle offers three ways to make money from them:

Google AdSense is the Google program where you can host pay-per-click ads on your Website. When someone clicks an ad, you earn money. Simple as that.
Is it really as easy to make money with Google AdSense as many would lead you to believe? Now that I've become heavily involved with managing Google AdSense programs for my clients, I can see it's not all play and no work.
Unfortunately, a lot of people bought into the idea that there was a lot of easy money to be made and they are now finding out they aren't making nearly as much as they thought they would. Additionally, Google has a lot of prohibited practices when it comes to AdSense, and too many Webmasters are finding out they violated Google's policies after the fact - often because they never bothered to read the AdSense policies in the first place.
Webmasters must not only comply with AdSense policies, but their Websites must also comply with Google's webmaster policies.
Prerequisites for Making Money with AdSense
To make money with Google AdSense you need plenty of traffic coming in to your site or there won't be anyone to click the ads. Website promotion techniques, especially search engine optimization and article marketing will bring more traffic to your site. You also need to have content that will attract the ads with the highest Pay Per Click (PPC) rate that are relevant to that content. Then, you need to lay out your web pages so the ads blend in with your site. Studies have revealed that people who visit sites that contain ads that use colors that are not in harmony with the actual Web site tend to develop "ad blindness". Meaning no matter how much traffic comes into your site, chances are no one will click the ads because they'll be ignoring them. If no one clicks, you make nothing
Dealing with Competitors' Advertisements

I was recently asked to look at an online money making program called TreasureTrooper.
"Kelly - I just heard of Treasure Trooper - is it a scam? Or is it legit? - David J., Missouri"Well....I hadn't picked up any new programs for my income stream for 2010 besides "Send Out Cards", so I thought I would take a look. I actually took the time to email the owner of Treasure Trooper some questions. You can read the Q&A below. I think it's important to know a little more about these companies before I join - so I always ask some questions. I want to thank TreasureTrooper for the insightful answers.1. How much can the average person expect to make per month.We have many members making a wide variety of money each month. $50-$100 is fairly common, but some make 10 times that amount each month!2. What makes Treasure Trooper any different or better than the 100s of other sites with a like program for earning.We are a pioneer in our industry. We are approaching our 5 year anniversary, which makes us older than every similar program out there. During our 5 years we have witnessed the creations of hundreds of copycat sites with the large majority of them closing down soon after and even failing to pay their members. To date, we have literally paid our members MILLIONS of dollars. We know what it takes to keep a program like this going and we do it very well. In addition, no other program has the amount of extra money making features that we do. There's too many to describe each, but I fill just list a few: Quarter Bin, Cash Clicks, Daily Surveys, Facebook Application, VIP club, CashBack Shopping, TreasureHunts, Buried Treasure, Bonus Newsletter OFfers, and much much more.3. Tell me about the reasoning behind creating Treasure Trooper? What is the expertise, experience, vision?The vision for TreasureTrooper was to provide a place where individuals could put some extra cash in their pockets just for giving their opinions or requesting information for services that they would normally request anyway. We saw great potential in rewarding our members for the time they already spend online. 5 years later, we feel confident that this vision has been, and will continue to be realized for years to come.4. Anyone signing up – can they expect lots of spam mail or telemarketing calls? Nobody likes that, but everyone worries about it. How protected is a person’s private info?TreasureTrooper has a strict privacy policy in place that prevents us from selling your info to third parties. We will never call you, and you can expect to receive 2 newsletters from us per month via e-mail. However, you can elect to not receive these e-mails as well.5. Do the majority of your offers require credit cards? Shipping costs? On the contrary, the majority of our offers are 100% free. We do have a few that would require a credit card, but to offset that there are literally hundreds of free offers available.So....My experience so far?It was very easy to sign up. NO-brainer. It states that you can join even if you don't live in the USA - but there aren't many offers that I've seen for anyone outside the USA. Anyone 13 and older can sign up! Yep....that means that teens can earn with TreasureTrooper too! Am I earning??Yes. I've earned close to $105 in my first month! That's $105 for doing something in my home at my computer. To me - that's good money. You do make money off referrals - of course. Some of the offers I filled out haven't been approved yet - so I could make even more in my first 30 days. Offers are sometimes not approved right away....they give the following reasons:1) You didn't finish it successfully.2) You didn't rotate e-mails.3) You used invalid information.4) You've signed up for this offer before.5) It isn't tracking properly.6) You haven't waited at least 2 weeks!So don't fret if something isn't showing up in your earnings right away. Now - back to referrals. Many programs will pay you a flat fee for referring someone. Say, a dollar for each person you refer. At TreasureTrooper they pay you a 20% bonus on what any of your referrals make. This bonus is NOT taken from the referral - they keep all their money - it's given by TreasureTrooper. So that's pretty cool. Your friend Sally earns $100 with Treasure Trooper and you get $20!! So...with that in mind - say you refer three friends or family members - they all do $40 in offers - you've just earned an $8 bonus for each of them - that's $24 in referral bonus money on top of what you earned yourself on offers! I referred my Mom, sister and two co-workers....they've done an average of $43 each this month - that's $8.60x4=$34.40! I've almost made $35 from just referring 4 people?! Think if you refer 25 people, or 50 or 100?If I had done that - and they'd all averaged $43 - I'd have an extra $340 this month on top of my own earnings....which would have put me over $400 for one month! Now that is some serious cash when you think about it.And I never left my house.So referring is good. You earn, your family members earn, your buddies earn - it's crazy not to refer others.If offers weren't enough - they have "cash clicks" too. You can earn .5 cents for just clicking a link! They've got a wonderful community forum as well. I always think that's a nice bonus!Payments are made by check. Mailed to the address you specify and the minimum each month is $20. A call center in your home
In recent years, you've heard a lot about companies routing their customer-service calls to workers overseas, but a less-noticed trend is the growth in home-based call-center workers.
Thanks to the Internet and better call-routing technology, more companies are finding they can outsource their order-taking, sales and problem-solving calls to home-based workers, said LiveOps board member Bill Trenchard. LiveOps not only runs an outsource operation, Trenchard said, but it also provides technology for companies that want to set up their own home-based call centers.
Home-based workers tend to be better educated and more loyal than their counterparts at traditional call centers, according to Trenchard. Most of LiveOps' workers have college degrees -- Opara has a master's -- and turnover is low.
The flexibility that Opara likes also benefits companies. Home-based operators are typically contractors who are paid for each minute spent on the phone, so companies can quickly gear up to meet high demand without having to pay for idle workers during slack times.
The job isn't without drawbacks. Pay usually starts around $8 an hour, assuming you get enough calls, which can come slowly at the beginning, Opara said. The jobs that simply require taking orders often pay the least, while the better-paying jobs typically require that you have sales skills.
Call centers usually have no tolerance for audible distractions, so a crying baby, barking dog or ringing doorbell could get you fired. (Some companies require their workers have dedicated offices with doors to minimize potential distractions.) An operator also needs a dedicated phone line, a computer and high-speed Internet access.

After the birth of her daughter, Carrie Opara knew she didn't want to return to her old job as a mental-health counselor. But finding legitimate work she could do at home was no small feat.
She tried a multilevel marketing plan and wound up in debt. She looked on the Internet and found plenty of scams. Finally, she heard about LiveOps, a Palo Alto, Calif., call center that hired people to work out of their own homes.
Within two years, she was earning about $2,000 a month working 30 to 35 hours a week from her home in Columbia, Md. -- about what she'd made previously as a counselor. Her shifts can be as short as 30 minutes, although she typically works five-hour blocks while her 6-year-old is in school, plus some nights and weekends when her husband, a certified public accountant, can take over child care.
Opara said she still faces the challenges familiar to every working parent: how to work enough hours, spend enough quality time with her family "and still figure out how I'm going to clean my house, make dinner and do the grocery shopping." Not having to commute or pay for child care, however, are big bonuses.
"It's fit in perfectly," Opara said, "and we also like the flexibility."
Technology is opening up new opportunities for parents and others who want to work at home. Finding and landing legitimate, profitable work still isn't easy, but here are a few venues to try:
